Nicole Mayer is the founder of Mayer Law. Nicole brings 18 years of legal experience to your legal matters. Over the years she has learned the importance of proper planning, the benefits of exhaustive preparation, the insight obtainable through comprehensive investigation, the edge gained from identifying an opponent’s pressure points, and the outcomes achievable through precise and persistent execution.
Nicole spent the first seven years of her legal career in private practice in Tampa, Florida representing individuals in nationwide and statewide class action cases involving issues of consumer financial and civil rights laws. In this position, Nicole developed unique investigation skills that have served her well in her career.
In 2013, Nicole moved to Washington D.C. to serve an Enforcement Attorney at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. In that role, she represented the United States government in investigations and legal actions in cases involving unfair and deceptive practices of big businesses. As a government attorney, Nicole learned about the relationship between corporations and their federal and state regulators and how those relationships can be used to achieve legal results.
Following her time in D.C., Nicole moved home to Orlando, Florida, where she worked as the Financial Services Attorney and Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officer for a major hospitality company. She oversaw all legal aspects of consumer lending, servicing, and debt collection; AML/BSA compliance; complex litigation; corporate tax; capital market transactions; and international opportunities. Working on “the inside” taught Nicole the ins and outs of big business and the corporate mentality when it comes to legal matters.
In 2020, amid the Covid-19 pandemic and school shutdowns, Nicole found herself the at-home teacher for her fourth-grader, kindergartner, and preschooler. She learned that corporate America was not equipped to handle such divided loyalties. This is when she decided to open Mayer Law, which allows her to service the clients she chooses in the most efficient and effective manner possible and to partner with other lawyers as co-counsel, or in a contractual capacity.
Nicole obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Advertising from the University of Florida in 2002. (Go Gators!). She went on to attend law school, alongside her sister, at Stetson University College of Law in St. Petersburg, Florida, graduating in 2004.
Nicole lives in Maitland, Florida with her husband; their three sons, ages 12, 9, and 7; and the family cat. When she is not working, she can be found throwing around a baseball with her family; playing video games with her kids; and picking up Legos around the house.
